Community

Art thrives where community thrives.

Hamilton Studio School supports art initiatives in the community by partnering with groups and organizations, helping them to execute projects and express a collective vision in a range of art forms.

Cootes Paradise Elementary School Mural

Hamilton Studio School collaborated with Cootes Paradise Elementary School to create a playground mural on the outdoor shed.

Each week for three months we met with our team of 16 mural club students (grades 3-5) to develop the conceptual framework, build the composition, enhance the work with details, select a colour palette and paint the final work on site.  The children brought creative focus and energy to every stage of the project, as did the amazing teaching personnel and Home and School Association volunteers who worked with us.

The children created a community artwork that portrays play, friendship, diversity, belonging and joy in the natural world.
